A recent leisure visitor to Tweed Docks is the Oosterchelde. She is the only remainin authentic Dutch three-master. This topsail schooner, restored to all her former glory, is the largest sailing monument of the Netherlands.
The 'Oosterchelde' is the only remaining representative of an extensive fleet of three-masters that sailed under the Dutch flag at the beginning of the twentieth century. This vessel, with her size, elegant appearance, excellent sailing characteristics and her perfect restoration, commands respect. Restored to her fomer glory the 'Oosterchelde' plies the world seas.
