BERWICK UPON TWEED HARBOUR - ENGLAND EAST COAST
NOTICE TO MARINERS - CHART 1612

Notice is hereby given that repair operations have commenced at Berwick Breakwater and will continue over the coming weeks.  Divers may be working in the vicinity.  Mariners are requested to navigate with caution, give as wide a berth as possible and keep speed to a minimum at all times.

Port Facilities and Storage

BERTHS

Tweed Dock offers three commercial berths. The longest is 124 metres, there is one of 108 metres, and one of 97 metres. 
The dock is tidal, depths alongside are dependant on the prevailing tide heights but average 1.5 - 2.0m at M.L.W.S. 
Berwick is a NAABSA port.
Vessels lie aground on level mud.

HANDLING RESTRICTIONS

Vessels of up to 90 metres over-all-length are considered ideal for Berwick Harbour.
However, ships up to 116 metres over-all-length and fitted with twin screws, plus bow thruster, are regular visitors to the port
The maximum beam for vessels is 16 metres. Entries and departures at the port are timed for high water slack period, normally one hour before to one hour after high water. 
Maximum draft for vessels is 4.60 metres during Spring tides to 3.70 metres on Neap tides.

STORAGE FACILITIES

Tweed Dock has 3,200 square metres of covered storage room with a further 1,500 square metres of uncovered storage facilities.
