Pilotage is compulsory for all commercial vessels exceeding 40 metres. The pilot boards about 1 mile east of Berwick lighthouse.

Port Facilities

BERTHS

Tweed dock offers three commercial berths, 124m, 108m, and one of 97m. The dock is tidal, depths alongside are dependant on the prevailing tide heights but average 1.5 - 2.0m at M.L.W.S. Vessels lie aground on level mud.
